Access "Pro" Setup on the Nest 4th gen thermostat

Hello,

I've just replaced my Nest 3rd Gen thermostat with the new 4th gen.

I want to set some terminals for a 3 speed fan configuration. On my surprise, I am not able to change this on my own like I was able to do it on the 3rd Gen (via the "Pro" setup).

I don't want to pay for a "Nest Pro" just to change some basic functions of MY device.

Any idea how to enter Pro setup or at least change * terminal to G3 speed and Y2 terminal to G2 on my own?

Hi matick,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that you would like to complete the setup process with your 3-speed fan configuration on your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Gen. I'm here to help.

In order to prevent malfunctions for the multispeed fan, it is required to have the Pro Setup installation; this was made to secure the Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Gen for the wires depending on your system.

Pro Setups allow Nest Pros to configure advanced settings for complex systems, including those specific to multispeed fans. Some of these settings are only available during the Pro Setup process and cannot be adjusted by the user.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Byron

Pro settings should be exposed as is the case with the 3rd generation Nest. User should agreed to some disclaimer and proceed with caution.

I don't want to pay for Nest Pro installer to connect 3 wires if I know what I am doing!

It is my device and I think I can do with it what I want.
