Add Second account to Home Away configuration

Other posts have not resolved this problem.  My spouse is a Google Home Member (manager). She has a separate iPhone with a separate email address. I  Nest Configuration for Home/away, only my phone is listed. when I click the + button to add someone, it takes me to Google Home where she is listed as a member. There is no option to add her to the Nest Home/Away configuration that I can see.

Another article: HOW TO ADD 2 PHONES TO ONE NEST THERMOSTAT

just points to a document describing how to add and remove members from Google Home. It says nothing about configuring Home/Away.

Hi bsnahrwold79,

Thanks for reaching out. I know it's been a while already. I'm sorry for the delay. It looks like your spouse is already a member of your Home structure. Your spouse will already contribute to Home/Away assist. It’s recommended to use your phone location as well as your home members’ phone locations to Home/Away Assist to improve the accuracy of presence sensing.

Check your home location settings:

  1. In the Nest app, go to Settings and then Home Info and then Address.
  2. Edit the address if needed. Then select Next.
  3. If the pin location is off on the next screen, drag the map to move the pin to the correct location.

Also, check if Home/Away Assist is correctly reporting whether you were Home or Away. If it’s not right:

  • Check the home’s location in the Nest app. Verify what products are contributing to Home/Away status.
    1. In the Nest App, go to Settings and then Home Away Assist and then What decides if you’re home.
    2. In the Nest App, toggle the Home/Away button, then check if the products are working as intended.

Best,

Jenelyn
