I am trying to add a temperature preset that I can set for a 24 hour period essentially ignoring all of the built-in default presets so that I can use this to hold one temperature for the whole day.
When I go to add the preset it asks for a start time but NOT an end time, is there anyway to add a preset for 24 hours?
Thanx,
DennyL

Hi DennyL,
Thanks for posting. To create a 24-hour temperature preset on your Nest thermostat, set the start and end times correctly. Although the preset creation screen may not prompt for an end time, you can still configure it using the start time feature. By setting both the start time and end time to the same time on consecutive days, you effectively create a 24-hour temperature preset that holds the desired temperature throughout the day.
Let us know if that helps.
Best,
Zoe

Zoe,
Thanx for the reply and instructions.
I did try to add a custom schedule but the other default schedules would start effectively ending my custom schedule.
I removed all of the default schedules leaving my custom schedule and it worked but whenever I wanted to change the temperature it asked if I wanted to end the hold or something like that if I remember correctly.
Also, if it's the only preset and occurs every 24 hours I don't think the start time would matter.
I ended up removing all of the schedules and now I can just change the temperature to whatever I want whenever I want and it doesn't prompt me to cancel the hold. This probably isn't ideal but it works for me.
I think on the older thermostats you can just turn off Auto-Schedule, it would be nice to have this feature on the newer thermostat.
A bit off-topic but I wish the newer thermostat would work with the Google Nest Temperature Sensors, which would be handy in my house.
Thanx,
