Another Nest & Smart Radiator Valves / Smart TRVs question

Hello,

Like lot of other people, we are looking at getting smart radiator valves. However, unfortunately from a bit of digging it seems there is no integrated smart radiator valve functionality within the nest system.

Eg

https://www.reddit.com/r/Nest/comments/wun680/nest_with_smart_radiator_valves/

Yes the nest system can be programmed to be on at the same times you program the smart valves to do different things to different rooms but in most cases I’d need to buy a 3rd party product (eg Tado) including their thermostat and controller to run alongside Nest. When infact as far as I can tell, these 3rd party controllers could do everything nest can do, AND talk to the valves. I know Hive not only have their systems talk to the smart valves, but also they offer their own smart valves.

Are there any plans for Nest to follow suit any time soon, and  if not bring out its own smart valves, then at least to offer the functionality of the nest app and thermostat talking to 3rd party smart valves?

I’m surprised (and feeling a bit let down if I’m honest) that Nest seems to be way behind its competitors on this. Only had the nest learning thermostat (3rd gen) a couple of years and now it’s looking like it’s redundant and we might as well get rid of it.

Your help and advice is very much appreciated.

Hey geekpie,

We appreciate your interest however; we don't have any news to share about Nest Thermostat's own line of smart radiator valves. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback.

I also suggest that you send feedback by following this link. Let me know if you have other questions or concerns, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Best,

Mel
