Thermostat setup cloud connection error

During initial setup, the application want to create a nest network as I don’t have any other devices. When I try to create it, I am getting a cannot connect to the cloud error message. I have a fine personal gmail. The device is working fine but not connected to anything so no difference currently to my old thermostat

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues adding your thermostat to your account. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you.

Usually this message only appears due to connection issues. To isolate:
 

  • What Nest Thermostat model do you have?
  • What's the make and model of the phone you're using for the setup?
  • How far is the thermostat from your router?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the thermostat?

 

Please try the troubleshooting steps here and let us know if that helps.
