HVAC company came out to troubleshoot. Motherboard replaced.one Nest replaced. System only 16 months old. Nests do not follow settings. Nest has to be adjusted after setting to manually turn dial higher than inside temp and then lower to ideal setting to start the cooling. Some times Nest sats 2:34 hours to cooling. We have 2 zones, 2 thermostats. HVAC guy switched out Nests for 2 days w Honeywell thermostats and there was no problem. He reinstalled Nests and we have problems again. Thanks!

Hi Brenda,

We're sorry to hear about your negative Nest experience! Thermostats can definitely be a frustrating device to deal with, especially while in peak summer. I'm happy to look into this for you.

What might've happened is that your thermostat has Home/Away Assist enabled as well as a set Safety Temperature schedule. This feature turns on when it senses no one's home and tries to save energy by adjusting your HVAC system. The Safety Temperatures are set for heat at 35°F - 45°F (2°C - 7°C) and cool to from 95°F to 105°F (35°C - 40°C). This feature can be disabled if you would like to set a manual temperature schedule.

No matter which thermostats you go with, we just want you and your family to be comfortable in their home! Let us know if we can assist with anything else.
