Background app problem for Google nest

I keep getting prompted to allow background app refresh by the google home app, but it’s darkened out on my menu list. I can’t change it or turn it off and on again.

  • What is the make and model of your mobile device?
  • What is the software version of your mobile device?
  • What is the mobile app version?
  • What exactly is the issue you're experiencing with the app?
  • When did you first encounter the issue? Does this happen often?
  • What steps did you try to solve this situation?

That was absolutely a non answer. I’ve got the same issue

It was too many questions and I couldn’t deal with them. My family just got over the flu. Somehow, my Background app  issue resolved on its own. I’m not sure how, but I restarted my phone and I no longer have the problem.
