I have to remove from wall to charge battery with a usb charger and it only lasts for a few hours.  Anyone have any advice on troubleshooting or what to do next?

I am having the same issue. I *think* it's because there is no "C" wire connected. The "C" wire I believe is used to charge it, but I have a few questions out on the web asking for confirmation, Waiting for a response from someone with authority.
When I hear something I'll confirm with you.

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for reaching out to the community. I'm truly sorry your thermostat is not holding a charge. I completely understand how frustrating this must be. Thank you for sharing the picture. I'm happy to help you find a solution.

There are two potential reasons for your thermostat's low battery: rapid battery drain or inadequate power supply. To troubleshoot this effectively, please provide some details about your device.

  • For how long did you charge the thermostat?
  • When did the inconvenience first occur?
  • Is this a new installation?
  • Is the thermostat display turning on? If so, are you receiving any error messages?
  • Are the power breakers on, and is your home receiving power?
  • When you charge the thermostat with a dedicated micro USB charger, does any light blink?

In the meantime, please follow these troubleshooting steps:

  • Carefully remove the thermostat's display and check for bent connector pins.
  • Verify that the thermostat wires are securely connected and all buttons are pressed down.
  • Recharge the thermostat using a micro USB cable and check if there's light on the display. Please let me know about the light status color.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Ana
