Blower motor staying on even when it reaches the set temp

I recently purchases the nest learning thermostat during the summer and it worked fine.  With winter here we switched to heat.  It's set to 72 and maintains the temp in the house fine but never shuts the blower off..  I can lower it to 71 and it will shut off.  The next time it cycles at that temp, same thing, have to drop it a degree to get it to shut off.  This is very much running up my electric bill.  Help!!

Hi Donny7546,

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that your blower motor is staying on even when the thermostat reaches the set temperature. Are you located in North America or Europe? Remove the thermostat display from the base, wait about five minutes, and observe if the system turns off or stays on.

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
