I installed a Nest Thermostat for my upstairs zone. I only had a Red and White wire to connect.
I got the Nest power connector and began to hook that up. I connected my Red & White wires from the thermostat to the grey R & W wires on the power connector. Since I have zone, I began to connect the Power Connector to my Honeywell RA832A for the specific zone. The original thermostat wires were connected to the two T screws on the Honeywell, Red on the left and White on the right. I installed the Power Connector white R & W wires in the same places as the original R & W wires.
Then I followed the instructions to hook the Power Connector C wire directly to the transformer. I removed the connector jumper, ran the C on the Power Connector to the white transformer wire and added a wire from the grey R connection to the red wire on the transformer. The power to the thermostat looked good but when I turned the heat on the relay would start to malfunction. It would start buzzing and rapidly connect and disconnect.
Not sure where the issue is. Please help.
Thank you.

I have attached a picture. The R & W connect to the white R & W from the power connector. The two wires on the right come from the transformer. Where does the C go?

Hi dvg72,
Thanks for reaching out to us. Your heat-only system with no C wire is considered a complex system. In this case, I highly recommend you contact a pro to install the Nest Power Connector. You may follow this Pro Installation Guide for instructions.
Let us know if that helps.
Best,
Zoe
