We recently had a Nest 3rd gen installed. All is working fine except for a couple of times I’ve noted the boiler kicking in when it’s not scheduled, it’s not cold and there’s no demand. Once in the night and once mid morning but it might be happening more than I realise.
I’ve not got True Radiant on, learning is off and it’s not cold enough for the minimum heat to trigger it. It seems to be hot water based as those pipes are hot and the 2 towel rails connected to the hot water cycle get hot. We’ve had new motorised zone valves so I don’t think they are causing it. The app says everything is off and there is only the one green light on the unit.
Any ideas why the boiler would start up, for around half an hour?
Thanks

Hi Jake. I followed advice from our installer to extend the water heating times. It may have been the bacteria setting kicking in as I only had it on for bursts of 1.5 hours, not the 2hrs required. Seems okay now! But thanks.
