My Thermostat worked 1 summer…. Then the nightmare with seasonal savings began.
I adjust the temperature when I’m home and awake. Seasonal savings adjusts it anyway while I sleep or am at work. THERE IS NO TURN OFF OPTION IN HISTORY OR HOME APP!!!!! This is a lie!!!
so my AC system works fine outside seasonal savings time in summer… then this garbage starts and my system will turn itself off, constantly delay after cooling 1 degree AND worst of all only blow air 5-7 degrees cooler no matter what stage of cooling it’s in or what temperature I manually set it to. Result is my house gets hotter then outside starting around 3pm the continuing all night in summer. I have disabled nest aware, nest sense, auto scheduler and set my own schedule. But the nest just keeps on overriding me with no way out.
the ac/ heat pump furnace I have is new, working properly and has been checked multiple times. I have dual panes windows, sealed doors and an insulated attic. I’ve done quite a bit to make my system energy efficient already!!!! I’m on my second Nest thermostat since apparently that was the issue, but no clearly not. My voltage is fine as well.
im additionally to this the thermostat stays online but the app and google home say it’s not when it is so no remote option available anyway.
ps I have solar and am a massive overproducer. I got so many panels to run my ac which I cannot even do now because seasonal savings decided to be an AI overlord and ignore my schedule and overrides which I stayed up all night several nights to opt out of.
I’ve done all the trouble shooting with help center and still get no where and I’m not enrolled in any power saving with my utility company either.
Google may think it knows all about me but news flash you don’t and you suck!!!!
im done sweating all night, having tech check my system, having to close all my blinds and curtains, not being able to cook all summer, etc because your stupid seasonal savings I never opted into. Your support people cannot help and are not even aware it’s an issue even though it all over the internet including this very community.
so in conclusion, goodbye Nest Thermostat. Go away and never comeback. Don’t buy one, and don’t get any google smart automations for your home. Your home is yours not theirs to control against your wishes
