Can my Nest replace a VT3000 Smartways Solution Talking Thermostat?

ThePoolMan

Greetings,

I have a new home and want to remove this product --

http://smartwaysolutions.com/pdf/VT3000_Users_Guide.pdf

-- and replace with Google Nest.

Is it compatible?

I bought the Sand colored model off this page --

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HRNYF2J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

-- and it doesn't say which Gen it is.

Thanks in Advance for any and all help.

Get an answer on this? I'm looking to replace the same model with a similar Nest thermostat.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd love to know more about this. Could you share a photo of your current thermostat's wiring? Also, you could try our compatibility checker to see if your current system is compatible with the Nest Thermostat.

Thanks,
Mel

I think I did this right. Also, the compatibility checker gives an ambiguous answer. Too expensive a product to go with a maybe.

Hello there,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for assisting, Mel.

@Mad_Lad, Thanks for posting a picture with your thermostat wiring diagram. It appears that you have a compatible system with the Nest Thermostats. Please note that if you're planning to have the 2020 version of the Nest Thermostat, a C wire or a Nest Power Connector is required to deliver constant power to the thermostat.

Please let us know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Mark

I think my question was answered. I can buy a Nest thermostat (minus the 2020 version) and not need a C wire. Not sure if my system has one even though the wiring doesn't show one.

Thanks,

Chris
