Can not retrieve entry key to add a second phone

I have the nest app on my iPhone and connected to the nest thermostat. Now tying to add a second phone. An Android phone. We scan the QR code on the back of the thermostat and follow instructions. When reaching the Nest App screen it states “ Thermostat already connected to an account”.

when setting up my iPhone phone the entry code was there. Now there is no way to see it.

Once setup, you don’t use those steps to add it to another device. Simply login to the app using the same account you set it up with and your thermostat will be there. If you want to share it with other members of your household, invite their account/email address to the home:

Share a home and devices in the Google Home app - Google Nest Help

Note that even if the device only appears in the Nest app, you still need to use the Google Home app to manage home members.

The email address you invite must be a personal Gmail account, or if the person you’re inviting to the home uses another email provider, they must create a Google account using that email address. Once they receive and accept the invite, your device(s) will show up in their Nest or Google Home apps, as appropriate.

I have already followed the instructions you mention. I have a Google Home app on my phone. I have invited my wife using her gmail account.

On my wife’s android phone the nest app is there. I scan the code on the rear of the thermostat. The next screen I see on the phone asks for the entry key. ( This key appeared  on the thermostat when the engineer set up my iPhone). Now when I go to the thermostat all I see on the Nest screen is “This thermostat is connected to an account”. Without the entry key we can not proceed.

Thanks for your help. It’s now sorted.
We had done everything right. But hadn’t noticed we had given the devices different names on each phone. That’s all it took. As happens so often these days it took a teenager in the family to spot the error.

No problem! Like I said, scanning the setup code to link it to the owner’s app is a one time process. If you want to add it to additional phones, you use the steps I mentioned above, the setup code is only ever scanned once.
