Can’t Link nest app to google home

Is there a way to link the nest app to google home? I need to add a family member to my nest account so they can also use the thermostat. I tried to add a family member to nest app but it directed me to google home which I dont reallly use. I added my husband who accepted but it doesn’t show in my nest app nor can he see anything. I assume I have to link the two apps but then I’m wondering if I should have setup my thermostat in google home instead of the nest app?

First of all, you cannot choose which app to use for the install. The Nest Thermostat E and the Nest Learning Thermostat get installed in the Google Nest app, but then should AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app, provided that you are logging onto each app with the same Google Account and accessing the same Google Nest "home/structure" on the same Wi-Fi network and you have assigned the thermostat to a "room" ("Where") in the Google Nest app.

The Nest Thermostat gets installed in the Google Home app and cannot be accessed in the Google Nest app.

In recent months, numerous customers in this forum have reported that when they installed their Nest Thermostat E or the Nest Learning Thermostat in the Google Nest app, it did NOT AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app. Many of these customers have then tried this workaround: In the Google Nest app, create a new, temporary Google Nest "home/structure". Go to that new, empty Google Nest "home/structure" in the Google Home app and delete it. This apparently forces the 2 apps to sync.
