Can't Remove Nest gen3 from GoogleHome after installing Nest gen4 device

We installed a gen4 device prior to removing the gen3 device from GoogleHome.  The gen3 device still appears 'offline' and the option to 'remove device' is not enabled.  We tried to power up the old device but it's still not working.  Unfortunately the wires were cut so we can't uninstall the new device, then reinstall the old device to get it 'online' again.  Any suggestions for removing the old device?

Update - solved:  We were attempting to remove the device from an ios phone, but when we tried from a google phone it allowed us to remove it. 🙂
