It depends.

"If you started using the Nest app after August 19, 2019, you’re already using a Google Account and don’t need to migrate."

"If you started using the Nest app before August 19, 2019, you created a Nest Account to manage your Nest products. You now have the option to migrate your Nest Account to a Google Account..."

We migrated our Nest Account to a Google Account a couple of years ago, and now log onto both the Google Nest app and the Google Home app with the same Google Account username and password.

Is it the Nest Learning model? You have to use the Nest app for that model not the Home app.

Yes it is. I'm using the next app but I can't get ir to work with Alexa. To be able to install the skill it gives a message your first need to add to Google.

The Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E get installed in the Google Nest app and are then supposed to AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app if they are in the same Google Nest "home/structure" on the same Google Account and the thermostat is assigned to a "room".

However, in recent weeks, customers have been reporting here that this is not happening. Some customers have done the following to fix the problem. In the Google Nest app, create a temporary Google Nest "home/structure". Then in the Google Home app, go to that empty temporary Google Nest "home/structure" and delete it. This apparently forces the 2 apps to sync and the thermostat then appears in the Google Home app.  It sounds strange, but it's worked for numerous customers.

I thought you had to "migrate" the Nest app account to the Home app or is that not necessary?

Tried but nothing comes up on Google home I could delete after creating the temporary one on Nest..

@mthofling

Do you log onto the Google Nest app and the Google Home app with the same Google Account username and password? If so, the temporary second "home" you created in the Google Nest app should be available in a drop-down at the top of the initial Google Home app screen (where previously your only "home" appeared).

So, I have read your instructions again, created a new test house and deleted in the next app and as a miracle it appeared there. Thanks a lot, sinched with Alexa and now works like a charm. You are the best! Thread closed!
