Hi Jared,

Thanks for reaching out to us. It's great that you're considering using Nest in your home. Here are my findings: 

• Unfortunately, Google Nest products are meant to work with WiFi as they depend on being online 24/7. They will not work without WiFi. 
• You can control your devices through the Nest app and Google Home app. (They also do synchronize with each other.) Singe both merged, the Nest app supports your Nest products, but does not offer 2nd/3rd-gen subscriptions and disallows any of the features exclusive to the Google Home app. Updates and subscriptions will be managed from Google Home from here on.
