Can the Nest E be programmed to not allow AUX Heat at certain times of the day? My PUD up charges electricity at certain hours in the morning and night.

Hi JBall,
Thanks for posting. The Nest E thermostat does not have a built-in feature to directly restrict or disable the use of auxiliary heat at specific times of the day. However, to reduce the need for auxiliary heat, adjust the temperature settings on your Nest Thermostat during periods of higher electricity costs. Set the desired temperature slightly lower to minimize the occurrence of auxiliary heat. This ensures that the primary heating source is sufficient to maintain the desired temperature. Nest Thermostats also allow you to create a heating schedule with different temperature settings for different times of the day, ensuring that the desired temperature is maintained without relying on auxiliary heat. Additionally, explore energy-saving features like Eco Mode or Home/Away Assist to optimize energy usage and reduce reliance on auxiliary heat.
Let us know if that helps.
Best,
Zoe
