E45 code error

ive got a Nest E Thermostat Second Gen and it keeps displaying a E45 error code... But has ran fine the past 4 yrs... I've trouble shooted everything the wires, the breakers, the fuses, the drip pan, the drain,  everything... And all seems to be in proper working order.. so what now???.….

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat is still giving you the E45 code, though you've already troubleshooted it. 

 

The E45 code means that your thermostat detects the wires mechanically but not electrically. The wires may not be in the terminal properly. Are you located in North America or Europe? What is the make and model of your HVAC system, and how long has it been since it was installed?

I'm having the same issue! I take it off the base and recharge it, it will work for maybe 2 minutes and then error again. Urg! Upstairs one (same one) is still working fine.
