I loved the Nest app interface, so intuitive, easy to use, setting separate heating and cooling schedules, and a VERY simple method to copy a schedule from one day to another.
Unfortunately, Google has made the Home app an unintuitive mess, trying to automate everything, and in doing so, has made things extremely difficult.
I set up a schedule for heat and cool on Monday (I live in the Northeast) of 69 heat and 74 cool to start at 6:30 AM. I want top copy this for Tues - Thurs. In Nest you clicked copy, clicked on the days you were done.
Googles instructions to copy state, " Tap the temperature you want to copy. Tap the day(s) you want to copy the schedule to. Tap Done or Save to save the changes."
You CANNOT tap a temperature, there is just the heat and cool together and tapping on them does NOTHING. In addition you don't get a menu of days top copy to, you get "Update event" days which as you can see is trying to update the existing "event". I just want to set a static daily morning and evening temp.
When I tap on Tues I get an error message that the Tues schedule conflicts with a Mon setting. This is simply stupid that it has been made so difficult.
It used to be that ECO was a temp for a min and max if you were away from home, now it's an "event".
Did anyone check on their FAQs?
Would appreciate anyone who can decipher this, I have a Computer Science degree and the instructions don't work and the basics are very difficult. Looks like app developers didn't have UI/UX guidance here.

I totally agree with you. I have (3) Gen 3 Nests with the old Nest app and I use the copy/paste feature a lot. I have one zone where I had to add a Gen 4 Nest. Not only can’t I access it from the Nest app and have to use the super kludgy, unintuitive Google Home app but the Google Home app has failed to be able to access that stat for two weeks! Google “is aware and working on it…”.

There are many other users who have commented on how terrible the Google Home interface is and how instructions state you can have a daily schedule, when in fact you cannot. It would be nice if someone from Google would either comment and correct the instructions or take some feedback to fix this blatant UX issue. Face it not everyone wants everything automated, we have complicated lives and the auto sensing/ learning feature cannot adjust to rapid needs

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out to the community forum. I understand you're having difficulties copying your Nest Thermostat schedule for other days in the Google Home app because you're getting an error that says the schedule may affect the day selected. I know how concerning this may be, especially since the instructions you followed don't seem to be working. I appreciate you sharing this information. No worries, I'd be more than glad to help you with this.
First, tick the boxes for the days that have the schedule you want to copy. For example, you can copy your Monday schedule to your Tuesday schedule, or even for the rest of the week. Once you have selected the days you want to copy the schedule, tap Done to confirm and save your selection.
If those steps don't work, check to see if the new schedule you are trying to copy will affect your previous schedule. If so, you have the option to delete a day's or an entire week's schedule. To do this, please follow these steps:
After deleting your previous schedules, please create a new one. Please visit the following article to learn more about Nest thermostat temperature schedules.
Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps.

Jonathan

I love how Google experts provide instructions that don't align with reality on the Google Home app. To reiterate, the Nest app was so intuitive that you never needed instructions. I went to the three dots, and, as per the screenshot, there is no cancel schedule option. Please screenshot any further instructions so I know they are based on reality.
Also the upload photos for the forms is broken., see the error message I get every time. Does Google ever run automated QA or regression testing? My image was tiny, 294K
