Thanks for the explanation. I have Presence Sensing turned off for the thermostat because I see no cost savings benefit in allowing the thermostat to let the house get hotter or colder while we're gone, and then we come home to an uncomfortable house...

Thanks! The four little tabs actually are on the 2nd Generation trim plate, not the 4th Generation base. Those tabs kept the base from sitting flat until I cut them off with side cutters.

Understood. Thanks for taking the time to explain your need. Here in the north part of the USA it's not unusual to have overnight temps drop into the 40's, cooling the house too much, yet increasing into the 80's during the day. That's going on right...
