Cannot connect to Nest App

Cannot connect / link Learning Thermostat to Nest App. Had 90 minute plus call conversation with two different Google reps through troubleshooting guide. My friend had same issue & had to get new unit. My thermostat is working properly, just not linking.

Any ideas to resolve or should I request a new unit? Thank You.

Just got the new Nest E, having the same issue.  It works but will not connect to Google Home, tried restart, reset to factory settings.  Super annoying.

I had to install the Nest app to link my Nest E after it wouldn't connect to Google Home.  Once I connected via Nest, it auto-imported into Home.

I cannot connect / link to the Nest App. Also doesn't link to Home App since not connecting to Nest App.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with linking your Nest Thermostat to the Nest app. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What's the message that you're getting when you try to link your thermostat to the Nest App?
  • What's the make and model of the device you're using to set it up?
  • Have you tried using a different device to link the thermostat?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi JV6,

Thanks for the added info and I apologize for the late response. The M15 message usually occur when you interact with the Nest thermostat after you've started a new pairing session but didn't finish it. You could try the following steps after setting it up:

  • After pairing the thermostat, please choose a mode like Eco, Heat, Cool, etc.
  • Go back to the Nest app, and the app will show a circle with an exclamation mark on the Nest thermostat.
  • Tap the exclamation mark and continue the thermostat configuration in the app.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Edward
