Cannot see Energy History of the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen in Google Home App

Hi,

I have the Google Home Thermostat gen 3 and the Energy History is not appearing in Google Home App.

Before you recommend some checks, here you have some details:

• I can see the Energy History in Nest App (but it is just 10 days as you well know)
• I can see the Energy History in the Thermostat itself (but it is just 10 days as you well know)
• The Thermostat is properly connected to the Wi-Fi, I can interact from both apps (Nest App and Google Home App).

But when I follow the below steps I cannot see that "Energy dashboard" in the top of the app:

1. Open the Home app.
2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
3. Tap Energy dashboard.
4. Select Day, Week or Month.

I attach an screenshot of the app, as you can see there is not "Energy dashboard" icon in the top of the app (it should appear there):

No energy history icon (Google Home App)

Did someone experience this "error"? Do you have any recommendations? Is is a Google Home App bug?

I'm sorry to hear that you can't see the Energy History in the Google Home app for your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Gen); however, you can see it in the Nest app, and you're controlling the thermostat through both apps. I'd be happy to help with your concerns!

Currently, Nest thermostats display energy data via either Energy History or the Energy Dashboard, depending on whether they are set up in the Nest app or the Google Home app.

Energy History applies to the Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Gen) and the Nest Thermostat E, while the Energy Dashboard is available only for the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) and the Nest Thermostat (2020), which are set up through the Google Home app and display similar data.

From what I understand the Energy Dashboard is not available for my thermostat version (3rd Gen), is it?

I guess this is because of internal development decisions, because it is possible to have it since the data is there and it is just showing it in the App.... do you know if there is something going on or if we (affected users) can claim this via this forum or another way you recommend?

Regarding your questions, for the Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Gen), where the native setup app is the Nest app, the Energy Dashboard is called Energy History. The only variation is the view details within each app, which does not limit or affect the energy data.

Currently, the option to view energy data across both apps is unavailable. In the meantime, I'd like to encourage you to submit feedback. This helps us continue improving our products to meet your needs.
