Cant connect iphone to existing nest setup

I have tried several attempts to get my wifes iphone to add the nest thermostat into Google Home. It is already installed on my android and works fine. The install always ends with something has gone wrong. I tried all the suggestions, rebooting phone, delete and reinstall the app, turn off cellular data when installing, turn off bluetooth and back on, delete home location and create a new one etc. No love. I dont want to factory reset the nest thermostat because I already have it set up on my phone. Any way to tell what is tripping the install up? I dont think it has to do with my router because it installs with my android phone. Thanks

You cannot install your Nest thermostat in the Google Home app on your wife's phone if you have already installed it in your Google Nest "home/structure". Rather, you need to invite your wife to become a member of your Google Nest "home": https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9155535.

You both need to have a Google (gmail) Account.
