Carrier Heatpump Heat strips not coming on with NEST E

Hello, I have a Carrier heatpump model FB4CNF024 that was previously wired into a Honeywell controller and was working fine.
I bought and installed Nest E and just had a home inspection where the inspector mentioned that the heat strips does not come on. After I installed it I can fee a difference in the heat coming out of the vents when I set it to heating. I probably have wires or a setting wrong so is why I am posting here :-).
Here is a link to photos of wiring etc.

Hope someone can help 🙂

Hi @GoranDIY,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Thermostat E isn't working as expected and the heat strips aren't coming on. No need to worry; I'm happy to assist you.

To get a better understanding of the situation, please help me by answering the following questions:

  • When did you install the Nest Thermostat E?
  • When was the last maintenance service and cleaning?
  • Is this the first time you're calling for heating this year?
  • Do you see a power error code on your thermostat?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Gabriela

I think I have resolved it.
1. The heat pump was set to dual fuel but should have been set to single fuel.
2. There is a setting for when the emergency heat should kick in and the inspector just assumed it should be always.
After I set the heat pump to single fule, and set the aux heat to always instead of 30F then the temperature was around 130F at the vent instead of 115F so I hope that is what is expected temperature.
