My system has been working flawlessly for several years. My system went down and the technician had to replace the motherboard on the carrier system. He replaced my thermostat with a basic Honeywell one. He stated that the nest thermostat likely caused the motherboard to fry.
I want to switch back to the nest, but am hesitant as I don't want another $450 part and labor to replace the motherboard again. Should I be concerned? Have my thermostat tested? Replace with new nest?
My system does have a common wire.
Thanks!

Hi SteveLb,
Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum. I'm sorry for the delay. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have before? You can visit this link to check what type of thermostat it was. Also, please share a photo of your HVAC control board.
Best,
