Hi there,
I tried Next Learnjng 3rd gen, but it didn’t work out with my current system.Only has 2 wires, R and W, Honeywell with battery.
Chatgpt said Next Wifi Smart will do, as it needs battery to work.
How about 4th gen?
Pls advise, thanks

Hi @Klarke,
Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Gen wasn't compatible with your two-wire HVAC system. I understand you're wondering if the new Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Gen will work with your system, and I'm here to help.
Checking the information about your system's wiring, it appears you likely need a C wire. While Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Gen and 4th Gen are very power-efficient (using less than 1 kWh per month), some systems still require a C wire for consistent power. If you don't have a wire in the C terminal, the Nest thermostat or Google Home app will prompt you to install one during setup.
Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.
Best regards,
Gabriela
