Bosch heat pump BOVA-60HDN1-M20G

Bosch air handler BVA-48WN1-M20

Three Nest Learning thermostats.

Purchased house with the above installed.

Completed a factory reset on all 3 thermostats, to erase prior owners info.

Now A/C not working.

My first question is....should I select "B" or "O"  during nest setup.....as "I'm not sure" did not work.

THANKS.

Hi imoody1,

Thanks for posting in the community! I'm sorry to hear that your AC isn't working as expected with your Nest Learning thermostat. I'd be happy to help.

It seems like you have a heat pump system. Please let me know if this is correct. Regarding your question about changing the orientation from O to B, this setting determines when your system switches between heating and cooling. However, it doesn't seem to be causing your current inconvenience. To better assist you, could you please share a picture of your wiring installation and provide me the following information:

  • When did the cooling last work?
  • Have you received any error messages?
  • Is this a new installation? If not, was it working previously?
  • When was the last maintenance and cleaning service?
  • Is this the first time you're using cooling this year? If so, did heating work without issues during the winter?

In the meantime, please go to SettingsTechnical Info Power on your Nest Learning thermostat and provide me with the VOC, VIN, and IIN values.

Also, check that the wires are fully inserted into the terminal and the connector buttons are securely pushed down. This ensures proper wire connections. For reference, you can check out this article: Troubleshoot strange heating or cooling behavior. Important: Before touching any wires, turn off the power to your HVAC system at the breaker box.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
