Configure the nest to adjust the cooling to be not more than 20 degrees lower than outside.

Hi All,

How to configure the nest to adjust the cooling to be not more than 20 degrees lower than outside.
I have thermostat set to 75 degrees.
When it is 110 outside, it would still cool down to 75, because I have new efficient hvac installed.
So this is almost 35 degrees difference, which is very bad for my wood frame house as it's starting the condensation and rotting.
To prevent these problems, I need the thermostat to adjust the temperature to be within 20 degrees threshold from outdoors. Thus with 110 it should set indoor to 90 degrees.
If outside drops to 100, then 80 indoor.  Once it reaches 95 or lower outside, at that time it should stop adjusting and keep 75 as it is desired.

Hello Andy_,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

Have you tried to check your thermostat's equipment settings? If you have a heat pump system, adjust the setting to limit the temperature range with the Heat Pump Balance. For more details, here's your guide to the heat pump balance settings.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Regards,
Mark
