Cooling Not Showing Up On The Thermostat

NavBhandal

Hello, I just installed the Thermostat today and powered it up for the first time. I can see Heating as an option but not Cooling.

On my old Honeywell, I had:

Red Wire: R

White Wire: W

Green Wire: C

Black Wire: K

Sorry, I don't know how to add a picture to my post (first time posting).

On my Nest, I have:

Red: R

White: W

Green: C

Black: Y (I searched online and found a couple of posts saying I should connect the only Honeywell K to the Nest Y.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sorry, 1 more thing. On my old Honeywell, I also had a small bare wire jumping from the red one entering at R, and going up to RC. Again, apologies for not uploading an image, but I don't see a camera icon.

Hi NavBhandal,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that when you connect your Nest Thermostat, it only shows the heating option. I know this can be frustrating, but don't worry, I'm here to help!

To better understand your situation, please answer the following questions:

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
  • What is the make and model of your HVAC system?
  • Is your system single or dual fuel?
  • Is your HVAC system gas, electric, or other?

To send a photo, you can usually find a camera or gallery icon at the top of your post.

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Manuel
