Device sharing

I live in a house that has a upstairs suite and a basement suite. My neighbor lives in the basement and we each have our own wifi. There is only 1 thermostat and it's in my suite. Is there a way for us to  both control the thermostat without sharing each other's wifi password or other google home devices?

No, I'm afraid. Assuming you login with a Google account, not a legacy Nest account, if you add someone to your home they get access to all devices in the home structure, not just your thermostat. They also would get the same level of access as you, and could even remove you from the home.

You could create a separate Home with just the thermostat on it. You can have up to 5 homes per Google account (3 per Nest account). Not the most ideal option but only thing I could think of.
