Difference in “set by nest” and “set by your adjustment”

Hello! I noticed that our AC ran all night the other night. We have an old home and don’t set it too low and do not use auto schedule (I had all scheduled times removed).

I look at the history usage and the last drop in temp setting happened at 11pm and says “set by nest app.” Does this mean it was me setting it via the app, or is this when nest itself changes the setting? I see both “set by nest app” and “set by your adjustment” so I’m wondering what the difference is between these two phrases? especially considering we do not use the auto schedule.

Hello patreely,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry.

The automatic switching with presence sensing could be a possible cause of the temperature change. If you've enabled the Home and Away Assist, your thermostat might still automatically switch to its Eco Temperatures when it senses that everybody has left home.

Try disabling the Home and Away Assist, and if you have the Google Home app, check the Routines and remove all thermostat actions available. Then, restart your thermostat once changes have been made and monitor it.

Keep me posted if that helps.

Regards,
Mark
