Display malfunction

I have an older Nest Learning Thermostat (Model 02A) and suddenly the display function (rotating the housing to change the displayed selection) has STOPPED working. I can spin the housing forever and the display will NOT CHANGE. Occassionally it randomly changes but it is very erratic. Is there a fix for this or do I need to replace the display unit completely? Please advise, thank you.

Hi stuahoutxyankee, 

 

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat suddenly won't respond to your actions. Have you tried to hard restart the thermostat display already? If not yet, push the thermostat display for about 10 seconds and wait for it to restart. Also, could you send us a video trying to navigate the thermostat but it won't respond? It will be helpful for us to take a look more on it.
