After years of dealing with professionally installed hardwired and locked thermostats at our work, we decided to just buy a simple modern looking thermostat to replace it. Once in hand, learned there is no knob to return to adjust the temp on the Google Nest thermostat, but a mirror face that is back lit instructing me to download the Google Home App, which was done. Next it is instructing me to connect to Wifi? Did not recall seeing Wifi was needed to make it work. However we have a portable MiFi from AT&T to set it up, but what happens when we turn off the MiFi? Will it continue to heat at 72* until summer gets here and we plug in the MiFi to ask it to cool to 72*? Or is there a bluetooth function to allow it to be adjusted locally with a smart phone?
