Check the Equipment menu on your Nest.  It will show the connections that it has detected.  If it does not show a connection to Y1 (cooling) it will not know you have A/C.  Pull the Nest off the wall and make sure the wire to Y1 is properly inserted and latched into it's terminal.

What if I only had 4 wires W, B, G & R? Heat works but no central air..

Hey folks,

Thanks for answering, johnCNA.

@Jcarz, how's your Nest thermostat now? Let us know if you still need help with it.

@DnA4813, what specific Nest thermostat do you have? Is this a first time setup or did your Nest thermostat work with it before? Also, could you provide a photo of your old thermostat wires so we can take a closer look into it?

Best,

Melba

Hey DnA4813,

Thanks for the photo.

Based on your wires, it seems that you only have a furnace and you don't have AC. If you think you do, please get in touch with a local HVAC tech or our installation partner, OnTech to re- check your wires and HVAC system.

Best,
