Received an E30 error Y1 error! Checked and cleaned the drain line and pan, replaced the low voltage purple fuse, cleaned and stripped all of the wires going into backplate of the nest thermostat.  The furnance and ac unit are 17 months old.

Hello Fredjv,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

Your Nest Thermostat physically detects the Y1 wire but can't complete a circuit. To isolate:

  • Is the Nest Thermostat newly installed?
  • Does the thermostat screen indicate that it’s actively calling for heating or cooling?
  • What type of furnace do you have? (gas, electric, etc.)
  • Did heating ever work with the Nest Thermostat?
  • Does it have a C-wire installed?
  • Gather its power readings in the Technical Info.
  • Please share with us a photo of your old and current thermostats' wiring setup.

I'll look forward to your response.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Mark
