E80 no power to y1 wire

Had a new furnace installed today. The nest thermostat is now giving an error. Message of E 80 no power to Y1 wire. I have reset it and it comes on briefly then shuts off. It is showing why one as cooling but I am trying to get the heat to work. Power to the thermostat was off for a couple of days while we waited for the furnace to come in and it does show low battery. I’m charging it now, but wondering, even if I charge it based on what I’m reading here that it will work Once I put it back on

Hello Smurphy5,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry.

The thermostat physically detects the Y1 wire but can't complete a circuit. It sounds like you've been through quite a process with the new furnace installation and the Nest Thermostat giving you an E80 report. But it's great that you've identified the low battery issue and are currently charging it. In many cases, once the thermostat has sufficient power, it should be able to function as intended.

If the issue persists, gather the power readings in the Technical Info settings. This would help us determine the voltage your thermostat is receiving from your system. Also, does it have a C wire installed?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark
