Hello, I have second-generation NEST thermostats that work very well and were purchased for environmental reasons. I see that Google has decided to discontinue support, thereby rendering the Nest app and Google Home app unusable. The proposed solution is to purchase a new thermostat system... a very environmentally friendly idea. If you had the good idea of buying Nest, could you reopen the Nest Developers API so that open source solutions can connect to hardware components such as a Raspberry PI box or other product?

I second this. Please make it possible for open source tools to leverage this hardware. You all claim to be a sustainable company, so please support individuals trying to avoid waste by allowing them to leverage this still functional hardware.
