Unable to connect home display to thermostat 3rd gen

I am no longer able to use Google home display or Google home app to control the thermostat. I cannot delete the thermostat in the Google home app this option is simply not there.  It gives an error message saying it does not have permission or is out of reach. I cannot scan the qr code to add it again either. I have deleted the app and reinstalled other devices. But the thermostat app remained linked to my account unresponsive and undetectable.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand you're having issues controlling your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) from your Google Home display and app, including being unable to delete the thermostat from the app or scan the QR code to add it again. I'm happy to assist you.

Could you please confirm whether you are still able to see and control your thermostats from the Nest app?

Please note that Nest Learning Thermostats (3rd gen) are designed to be set up initially in the Nest app. Once the devices are set up there, and you are using the same account and home structure in the Google Home app, you will be able to see and control them.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Anders
