I find it frustrating and a little short sighted that I can't Voice Command Google Home out of Eco Mode on the thermostat.
"Hey Google, Set the temperature to 70°"
... is currently set to ECO mode. To change the temperature, you'll have to set it to a different mode,"
Really? Why? What am I missing here?
Does anyone have a work around or can tell me what I'm doing wrong. I just can't believe it is set up this way. I'm not that lazy, but I do want to Voice Command control my thermostat no matter what mode it is in.

Look at the “location” you assigned the Nest Thermostat to. Mine is “hallway” as its location. Then I say “Hey Google, set Hallway to cooling mode.” That is all it takes.

That seems to work. I guess I wasn't expecting an extra step.
I was hoping for "Set temperature to 71°"
Instead of "Set hallway to cooling mode. Set temperature to 71°"
