I am the owner of the the Nest Thermostat App (I have a gmail account).  I want t share the app with my wife. Do she have to have a google account?

To share access to the Nest thermostat, you both need to install Google Home app.  And she will need to setup a Google Home account.

Her own Google home account?

Not to just share mine.

Yes, she will need Google home. You install Google home first on your smart device, then add her as a shared user.  Put in her current email.  It will send her an invitation and she will need to establish her own Google home account.

You can share your account with your wife, but she will have full access to the account.

Just install the Nest App on her phone and have her sign in using your credentials (user name and password).

It is much better if she has her own account.

Here is a link with more information about sharing access with others

Hey folks,

Thanks again for helping, CoolingWizard and Patrick_Caezza.

PhxJack, chiming in to check if you've managed to successfully add your wife as a member of the house/structure where your thermostat is. If not yet, have you checked in the link provided above?
