Furnace doesn’t engage when nest thinks it’s sending for heat

Overnight we seem to have a consistent issue with getting our furnace to engage. New furnace, had it for about a year and a half works most of the time but at night temperature drops and the nest lights up like it is trying to heat up, it says Heating to temperature in 25 minutes, but furnace does nothing. This just started about two weeks ago.

Hi @Bstucolorado!

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I am sorry to hear that your furnace doesn’t engage when the Nest thermostat thinks it’s sending for heat, but no need to worry; help is here. I need to know a few things about your thermostat in order to provide you with a better resolution.

  • What Nest thermostat model do you have? For your reference, you can check out this article on how to tell which Nest thermostat you have.
  • Does the thermostat display show any error codes or messages?
  • When did the issue first occur?
  • When was the thermostat installed?
  • What is the make and model of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment?

I'll be waiting for your response; any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Best regards,
Jeremy.
