I just moved and brought my thermostat with me. When hooking it up at my new house it is not recognizing one of the wires now. The wire has voltage and works with the existing . I'm guessing the wire base has went bad, is there no options to buy a replacement? It was just bought a year and a half ago and is still sold at the Lowe's and home Depot right down the road. I'm sorry but if I can't buy a replacement (which is rediculous) I'm gonna just buy another and take the back off of it and return it. If you point me where to BUY one I'll be more than happy to do so but apparently you aren't supporting the products that you're still selling. If you don't want to support your products don't make their operation hinge upon a cheap proprietary part.

Hi @jdub56,
Thanks for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that after you moved your Nest Thermostat and hooked it up in your new house, it doesn't recognize one of the wires in your system. I understand your concern since you've checked the wire, confirmed it has voltage, and verified it works with your old thermostat, which leads you to believe the thermostat's base might be defective, and you're looking for a replacement. I appreciate the detailed information you've shared so far. Don't worry, I'd be more than glad to assist you. To help with that, I have some questions:
Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.
Regards,
Jonathan

The model number is the title of the post ga01334, it's the charcoal mirrored face. It's the Y wire that's not recognized anymore. From what I've gathered, 6 pin wire base is no longer available which is the problem. Mine is just out of Warranty and this model is still being sold with no mention of it not being supported. There's still people buying these daily and are oblivious to the fact if anything goes wrong with it outside of the window they'll have to buy a whole new thermostat. I've even looked on sites like ebay, there are alot being sold without that plate which leads me to believe it's a common problem with these as there aren't any wire plates to be found. If it was just a through terminal it wouldn't be a problem but that pcb is. If you can help I'd definitely appreciate it but if they aren't produced anymore I'm not sure there's much anyone can do aside from buying a new one and taking its plate. There no physical damage to the faulty plate, just a bad terminal. I'm not buying a new one and returning it just to make it someone else's problem but if I have to buy a new one I can't see it being another nest if key replacement parts with known issues aren't available. These things are way to much to buy a new one yearly. Thanks for your response.
