General Question on $avings!!!

Good afternoon everyone,

I'm writing this because I'm minutes away from buying my nest thermostat. I've wanted one for a while and the new home we've moved into is not as efficient in energy as it could be - our first month's energy bill was over $250, but to be fair we have a huge sliding glass door and a 6 ft x 3 ft Bayview window directly above it that serves as a wall for our front living room where the sun rises and on the opposite side of our town home where the sun sets. We have a sliding glass door along the back patio and sliding glass door in our bedroom upstairs along with windows everywhere. So it's very easy for the cooling cost to get out of hand and I usually like to keep it cool. I'm in Florida too by the way so that's not fun.

I'm looking at all the information at purchasing this and deciding between this or the learning one. And regardless, I wanted to ask all of you out there how you feel about your thermostat. I'm not asking about how it works or if you've had issues with it. What I want to know flat out is

How much money have you saved since installing your thermostat? Monthly? Annually? Is anybody actually keeping track?

That's actually it.

I don't really care about watching my carbon footprint or making sure things are bright and PC. In regards to my home energy use, I'm simply looking at this from the angle that it states it saves on energy costs and I want to ask you, have you seen a difference in your bills that makes it worth it to offset the actual cost of the nest system?

Thanks In advance for any of you out there able to help me with this and I hope you all have a good day.
