I connected my 3rd generation Nest to my home internet.  I have the Nest app along with Google Home.  The apps seem to be fine but I have no idea how to monitor or adjust my temperature when I am not at home.  From what I was reading it seemed like it would be done within the NEST app but I was unable to find it. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Hi Sean1502,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I’d be happy to guide you through the options about how to monitor or control your Nest Learning Thermostat when you’re not at home.

Since you mentioned having a Nest Learning Thermostat, you'll use the Nest app to control it. If your account has been migrated to Google, both the Nest and Google Home apps will work with this thermostat model, but some features might be exclusive to the Nest app.

To control and monitor your Nest thermostat remotely, open the Nest or Google Home app, select your thermostat, and adjust the temperature. To learn more about how to control your Nest thermostat, you can see this article: Control your Nest thermostat with the app.

Another option is using the Home and Away feature. Set specific temperatures that automatically adjust based on your presence, saving energy. For reference, you can check out these articles: Learn more about Home/Away Assist and Change Home/Away Assist settings.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
