Google Assistant with Nest Learning Thermostat

Every time I try to use Google Assistant to set my Nest Learning Thermostat to a particular temperature, it only says "Setting the temperature on the Nest Thermostat to stay between [#] and [#]." The only way I can change the temperature is to say "Turn the temperature up" but it doesn't allow me to specify a temperature. Is there a different command I should be using or is there a setting I'm missing. I've turned off auto schedule too.

Thanks in advance.

I just tested my Google Mini and was able to change the system mode, and set a specific temperature.
I said “Hey Google, change Nest Thermostat to Cool Mode”

I said “Hey Google, Set Nest Thermostat temperature to 80 degrees.”
I said “Hey Google, Change Nest Thermostat to ECO mode.”

Thanks for the response! I tried saying “Hey Google, Set Nest Thermostat temperature to 70,” and it still responds with "Sure, setting the temperature on the Nest Thermostat to stay between 66 and 75 degrees."

Hello everyone,

I know it has been a while, but I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

Thanks for giving it a shot on yours, @CoolingWizard.

@Rick18, is your thermostat set on a temperature range, such as the Eco Temperature? Your thermostat might have been in Eco mode; try to switch it to your preferred temperature mode and try another command. Also, try rebooting your devices for them to refresh, and let us know if that helps.

Mark
