I recently installed two third Gen. google/nest thermostats with a new heat pump install and have been unhappy with the results, for the last 3 months, since the install of 12-15-2022.
I have 6 first and second gen. thermostats working off of my boiler heating, for the last 15 or so years.
Since google took over nest they seem to have lost sight of the fact that a device does not need to be a selling device for other devices..the thermostat just needs to be a thermostat..! Either that or I am just getting too old!
Does anyone out there want to trade with me..I would like 2 second gen. working thermostats for 2 third gen. thermostats that I now have, and have not been able to figure them out over the last 3 months. It seems like these 3rd gen thermostats want to do what google wants vs what I want the thermostat to do.

Hi jimskyguy,
Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry for the frustration that this has caused you.
Over the last few years, Nest has launched new models of the Nest Thermostat, which have the latest features, functions, and even aesthetics. There are even models adjusted to different lifestyles. Best of all, it should work as well as or even better than the old one. However, can you help me with the problem you're currently experiencing with your Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Generation so we can sort this out?
I'll look forward to your response.
Best,
Zoe

I have tried responding to your email and it came back as undeliverable..Both Zoe and Jenelyn. Google may be enamored with their 3 Gen. thermostats, but I am not. I have been using 6, first and second gen thermostats for about 10 years, now, and have been very satisfied, until google started making changes and bought out nest. My frustration with the changed nest thermostats, (since Oct. 2020), is palpable.
I do not want to try and figure out googles new system, as I have been 4 months trying, and do not like the new thermostat system. Does Nest have any of the older thermostats they would be interested in replacing my 2 new nest thermostats of 2022?
