3rd Gen WiFi Connectivity and Dead Screen

Over the past few weeks the 3 Gen Nest thermostat has repeatedly gone offline.  Sometimes it will reconnect, but now I mostly have to restart.  Up to to five or six episodes dailey  Tried all of the tips and troubleshooting.  WiFi setup is unchanged.  This unit had been 100% reliable up to now.  Very frustrating.

Recent threads describing no connectivity and dead screen combined reflect my experience.

@Vetter91

How long has it been installed?

How is it wired? Post a picture of its wiring here

Does it have a C wire installed?

Professionally installed in 2017.  C wire is installed.  All efforts to resolve via thermostat reset, router reset, hvac reset, troubleshooting wiring, etc. have failed.  Very frustrated with this situation.  Photo attached.Nest Wiring.jpg

Hello folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thank you for all your input, @Patrick_Caezza.

@Vetter91, I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat keeps going offline, and I appreciate all the steps you've taken. I'd love to know more about this.

To isolate:

  • Are you getting or receiving any power-related reports?
  • Do you see any message codes in its settings?
  • Could you please gather the power reading in the Technical Info settings?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark

@Markjosephp regarding your questions, there are no power related reports, or message codes.  I have attached a photo of the powere readings from the technical setiings.  Note, typically, I find the stat completely powered off and unresponsive to repeated presses to wake.  After numerous attempts, it may wake. NestTech2.jpg

Hi Vetter91,

I'm sorry for the late response. I see no power concerns with your thermostat's power readouts. Check its Signal strength in the Technical Info > Network. Then, in the span of 4 weeks, did you encounter the same issues? How's it? Were there any instances that it had withdrawn its power?

Regards,

Mark

Hey there,

I'm checking back in — how's it going? Still need our help?

Thanks,

Mark
