I've recently installed a 4th Gen thermostat with a single temperature Sensor. Everything's connected and working well.
The thermostat itself is running with the data from both the thermostat and the sensor, and displays the data that the sensor is providing.
In the app, the temperature sensor is listed as connected, and when testing the connection through the app indicates its well connected. What it doesn't do, is show the data, which is annoying. It DOES however recognize that the temperature sensor is 'frequently warmer' which is correct and jives with the data that is collected and displayed correctly in the thermostat.
I've tried resetting the sensor and thermostat several times and nothing seems to have an impact. The issue seems to be only with the app, which is up to date on the iPhone.

Hi @Honk,
Thank you so much for reaching out to the community! I completely understand what you're experiencing with your Nest Temperature Sensor and your Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen). The thermostat is working perfectly with all the information the sensor sends, but the same process in the Google Home app doesn't show the correct information, even though it's connected. That can be frustrating, so don't worry, I'm here to help you!
I really appreciate the time you took to perform some troubleshooting steps like resetting the sensor and the thermostat and checking that the app is updated. Based on these things, I'd like to ask you a few questions so I can share some extra troubleshooting steps that might help you.
In the meantime, I'd like to add a few troubleshooting steps:
